6 ways to use stencils | Scrapbook.com

Hello Friends. Today I have something a little bit different for you. I created an inspirational video, where I present you 6 ways you can use stencils on your projects. I turned my backgrounds into cards, but you can easily use the same techniques on layouts. I was using brand new stencils from Scrapbook.com. They are their exclusive product with a great quality and fantastic size. I much more prefer using 6*8 stencils, because I usually make layouts with them and they cover the bigger surface. I also always struggle with cards that are highier than 6 inches and with Scrapbook.com stencils I don't have to be worry about that anymore. Patterns are really basic and versatile, and I am sure everyone will find something that suits their needs.

Here is the video.

Each card was made with different stencil. Let's start with this mermaid themed one. I think it's my favourite of all of them.

I used "Scallop" stencil for this one and some Distress Oxide inks: Picked raspberry and Peacock feathers. I embellished my card with few cut outs made with dies from Spellbinders and Jane Davenport collaboration: "Mertail", "Mermaid for each other" and "You are unique". To cut them I used Spellbinders Platinum die cutting machine. Silver metallic paper is from Tonic Studio.

This card was made with "Hexagons" stencil and few Distress Oxides: Picked raspberry, Spiced marmalade and Mustard seeds. I cut out the flowers using "Layered floral" dies from Altenew.

Main element of this card is shaker box in a shape of heart. I colored my background using Liny's Magical Shaker "Oom pah pah pink". Heart pattern was created with stencil called "Heart" and Distress Oxide "Picked raspberry". I also added clear embossing using Scrapbook.com Embossing Ink. Flowers are cut with Sizzix Tim Holtz dies "Funky florals 1".

This winter card was made with "Snowflakes" stencil. I mixed Prima 3D Gloss Gel with silver glitter and filled the stencil. After snowflakes were dry I colored the background using silver mettalic paint from "Decadent pies" set. Snowflakes and backing of the background are made with Silver metallic paper from Tonic Studio.

This card was made with "Herringbone" stencil. After I sprayed through it and let it dry, I used circle dies to cut few circles. You can use whatever mists you have on hand. I used few older colors from Shimmerz, that I had in my stash. Title was created with Concord & 9th "Birthday balloon" stamp set.

Last card is this christmas card, where I used "Trees" stencils for embossing over the green cardstock. I added piece of string with few beads and finished my card with title made of Pebbles "Merry little christmas" thickers and few stickers from "Snowflake" line.

That's it for today. It was a super long post but I hope it inspired you to reach for stencils and play making backgrounds.
